A small family winery owned by Jim & Jeanne Durr, Surface Creek Winery is located in a premier fruit growing area of Delta County, Colorado. Our winery is set below the southern rim of the Grand Mesa, which provides a source of vital irrigation and domestic water in a high desert that annually receives 8 inches of precipitation - whether we need it or not! Jim hand crafts our artisan wines from the finest Colorado-grown grapes and fruit. Jim is a former wildlife biologist and natural resource attorney, whose commitment to wildlife is reflected in the sandhill cranes, trophy bull elk, gunnison grouse, and Colorado columbine that appear on our wine labels. We invite you to visit our tasting room and fine art gallery located in the historic old stone Eckert Oddfellows building, 12983 Highway 65, Eckert, Colorado. Can't find us? Call us at 970-835-9463 for directions. Right now our INTENDED hours are Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And Sunday, Noon to 5:00 p.m. We may be able to open other times by appointment. WARNING: Because of the current economic slowdown, Jeanne has taken on a real job and so she is not running the tasting room - Jim is. And sometimes we may be open a little late or close a little early. Saturdays are a bit tricky because Jim is trying to meet our obligations at the Gunnison Farmers Market and we can't find the right person to run the tasting room. This means that SOMETIMES WE ARE CLOSE ON SATURDAYS. iT IS ALWAYS BEST TO CALL IF YOU ARE ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE Please take a moment to investigate our website as we slowly build it into a reflection of what we can offer you. |
